  • File the following forms with the state of Georgia: 1099-MISC / 1099-NEC and 1099-R.
  • Filing due dates: File the state copy of form 1099 with the Georgia taxation agency by February 28, 2021 (January 31 in some cases).
  • Reporting threshold: If you file 250 or more 1099 forms with Georgia you must file electronically.
  • When filing federal copies of forms 1099 with the IRS from the state of Georgia the mailing address is: Department of the Treasury , Internal Revenue Service Center Austin, TX 73308.
  • When filing state copies of forms 1099 with Georgia department of revenue, the agency contact information is: Georgia Department of Revenue, Processing Center, P. O. Box 105685, Atlanta, GA 30348-5685.
  • Compliance rules: Georgia businesses are required to submit copies of 1099 returns with Form G-1003 (Withholding Income Statement Transmittal Form) reflecting payments that are subject to GA income tax withholding. A substitute form is acceptable provided state wage and tax information is included. Filers who are federally required to file information returns electronically must also file electronically with GA Department of Revenue. A penalty applies when a business files 1099 forms on paper that are required to be filed electronically.
